Level 3 Emergency first aid at work

Course Outline

 This one-day Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work course is designed to provide you with the emergency first aid skills to look after a casualty at work. It is suitable for smaller and lower risk workplaces.

Course Discription

  

  • Roles and responsibilities of the first aider
  • Minimising risk in an emergency situation
  • Safe accident procedures
  • Safe airway positions
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and use of AEDs
  • Dealing with Choking
  • Managing a casualty in seizure
  • Treatment for bleeding and shock
  • First aid for burns
  • Common minor injuries in the workplace
  • Appropriate first aid kits and equipment
  • Completing accident forms

 


Duration and assessment

 The training and assessment typically consists of a one day (6+ hour) course. 

Students are assessed continuously by tutor observation of ‘real-life’ skills in a friendly and supportive way. There are no written tests to complete at the end of the course as the outcomes are assessed by demonstration of practical first aid in our fun and interactive scenario-based approach throughout the day.

This certificate is valid for three years and certificate renewal is by completion of another Emergency First Aid at Work training course.
